Before Christ, we were dead in our sins, living to gratify the desires of our own flesh—without hope and without God. Left to ourselves, we were lost and separated from the One who gives life. But because of His great love for us, God made us alive in Christ. By grace, we are a new creation. The old has gone; the new has come. We are no longer ruled by the flesh, but free to live in Christ—to learn what pleases the Lord, to walk in love, and to love others well. Rooted in Him and standing on the Rock, we are strengthened in faith and filled with gratitude for His great mercy. This gift changes everything. When someone gives a gift beyond anything we could imagine, we do not treat it lightly or bring shame to the name of the one who gave it. How much more, then, should our lives reflect the grace we have received in Christ? We carry His name. We represent both the Giver and the gift to the world around us, called to live lives worthy of the grace we have received and to point others to Him.
