Thank you
At Awake and Renew, our songs are built on the foundation of Holy Scripture. Most translations are protected by copyright. We honor the work of the scholars, translators, and publishers who make these versions available by providing the required acknowledgments below.
Our Lyrical Process & Integrity
The lyrics for Awake and Renew projects are personally selected and curated by our team. We often utilize a “translation stew” or “scripture mosaic” approach—blending multiple versions of the Bible to capture the full depth and beauty of the original text.
Note on Lyrical Arrangements: Our lyrics include both full-verse citations and partial-verse fragments. These selections are creatively adapted and arranged for musical meter, rhythm, and poetic structure. In every instance, we strive to maintain the original theological meaning and the sacred integrity of the source text.

Lyrical Methodology & Sources
Lyrics across Awake and Renew projects are curated as a precise thematic “mosaic” using verbatim excerpts and linguistic fragments from various English translations. This methodology aligns individual scriptural passages to musical meter while strictly preserving the underlying theological context.
Per publisher guidance and licensing frameworks, select phrasing, vocabulary, and cross-references from the following translations are utilized as foundational source texts to compile our lyrical arrangements:
- New King James Version (NKJV)
- New Century Version (NCV)
- New English Translation (NET)
Note: Because these specific selections are curated, adapted to meter, and integrated into a multi-translation mosaic, formal corporate legal notices for these versions are omitted from the section below at the explicit request of the rights holder.
